Thank you so much for being an important part of our 25th anniversary gala, “By Faith.” It was truly a gift to us to be able to honor Mr. Norman and Mrs. Donna Lewis and to feature Dr. David and Mrs. Bette Chenault, Mr. James and Mrs. Lucy Parker, and Dr. Mark and Mrs. Debra Woolf. They are all servant leaders who continue to inspire and encourage us each day. And, of course, we were so happy to highlight our Guatemalan volunteer, Mr. Armando Nájera-Morales. Although he was not present in person, we felt his heart and his faith in the room. He is such a blessing to this mission, as are all our Guatemalan volunteers.
Our preliminary figures indicate that the event raised more than $1 million with 750 in attendance. Your generosity is a testament to love that knows no bounds or boundaries. We are humbly grateful for this outpouring of love that will provide life-changing, life-giving medical care to the poor of Guatemala. We are grateful to gala chairs Dr. John and Mrs. Sylvia Zerwas. They, too, embody the theme of the gala. Their involvement with Faith In Practice, in their role as gala chairs, is a blessing to us all.
This year through Faith In Practice, more than 1,500 U.S. volunteers will join more than 1,000 Guatemalan volunteers to serve more than 30,000 in great need of healthcare in Guatemala. We are deeply grateful and will be able to provide a spiritually enriching experience to our volunteers. We will be able to honor God through the work of this mission.
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
