Hearts Full in Guatemala: A Joyful Day of Mobility and Ministry
Yesterday, our team began the day grounded in Scripture and focused on what matters most. Our devotional centered on Luke 10 and the reminder that even when we’re serving, it’s possible to take our eyes off Jesus. With that in mind, we committed to fix our eyes on Him throughout every step of our journey.
We traveled by bus to Nebaj, where we received training for our first wheelchair distribution in partnership with Faith in Practice (FIP). Spirits were high as we prepared for the day ahead, ready to work as one team to bring mobility and hope to those in need.
This morning, we opened our time together with a reflection on Colossians 3:12-14, preparing our hearts to serve with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. We asked God to clothe us in His love and bind us together in unity as we carried out the work ahead.
From there, we journeyed to Cunen, where we had the joy of meeting 50–60 new friends. One part of our team focused on assessments, carefully identifying each individual’s needs, while others assembled GEN_2 and GEN_3 wheelchairs.
Each wheelchair given represented more than mobility. This was a tangible expression of God’s love. After recipients were lifted into their new wheelchairs, made possible by our generous donors, we shared a message of God’s care and love for every person. Smiles beamed, tears fell, and the joy of newfound mobility filled the room as recipients took their first rides.
As we return to rest tonight, we’re gratefully tired and overwhelmed in the best way by what God has allowed us to witness. Our hearts are full, and we’re already looking forward to what He will do tomorrow.
Thank you for praying for us and walking with us on this journey. We are honored to be the hands and feet of Jesus here in Guatemala.
