Day 6- 3/4/2026
During our devotional today, I learned that Faith in Practice has been helping people for more than 25 years. The team member who led the devotional has been participating in these missions since around the time the organization was founded. She has witnessed the organization help countless people and has seen Faith in Practice grow along with its impact. Since that time, there have been many medical missions just like ours.
On day four of the mobility clinic and day three of surgeries, it can sometimes feel like so much work has already been done, and it may be easy to become discouraged about continuing. However, each positive interaction and each case helps propel every volunteer forward. Every volunteer I have spoken with during this mission has shown that they are here because they genuinely want to make a positive impact on the people of Guatemala.
During the devotional this morning, and through countless interactions with patients, I have been reminded of the importance of gratitude. I had the opportunity to speak with several patients who are recovering from their surgeries, and each person I talked with wanted to express their gratitude. Gratitude allows us to focus on the positive aspects of life.
I would like to express my gratitude to everyone I have had the opportunity to work beside, observe, or meet here in Guatemala. Every person I have worked with or helped has reminded me of the good that still exists in people.
