Faith In Practice Community,

I am writing to share with you the news that God has blessed our search for the next CEO of Faith In Practice. While we remain ever grateful for all that God has done throughout the tenure of Rev. Linda McCarty as our President and CEO, we are prayerful for all that He will continue to do through this mission in the coming years.

Following Linda’s announcement that she would be stepping away from Faith In Practice, the Board of Directors and I worked diligently and in faith to select a leader with the qualifications, demonstrated talent, and shared passion to guide our amazing mission into the bright and hopeful future that God has planned. We are extremely excited for you to meet our new CEO, Michelle Bair, PhD, who began her new role on October 31, 2022.

Michelle comes to Faith In Practice with a wealth of experience in the nonprofit sector, both in education and in healthcare. For the past eight years, she has served as a Director of Development at the Memorial Hermann Foundation where she has led both operational and fundraising teams, while also serving as a member of the Memorial Hermann Medical Mission Committee. Additionally, Michelle is a founding Board member and the current Board Chair of Etoile Charter School Academy, an elementary and middle school network that provides high-quality education to underserved students in Houston.

Having built a successful career in nonprofit administration that includes leading the development of an organization strategic plan, building essential personnel and operational infrastructure, and increasing revenue through philanthropy, she possesses the necessary qualifications and experiences needed to support Faith In Practice as we continue on our journey of growth. Of equal importance to the search committee was her collaborative approach to teambuilding and ability to lead through service and compassion. Her varied skillset will be instrumental in leading our volunteers, staff, and team members as we care for our neighbors in Guatemala. Michelle holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and both a Master’s and a Doctoral degree from Texas Tech University.

I hope you will take a moment to include Michelle, Linda, and our entire Faith In Practice team in your prayers as we begin this new and exciting chapter.
