The 11th Annual Women's Luncheon
On May 18, we held our 11th Annual Women’s Luncheon, Love Abiding. We were so blessed by those of you who joined us at the Hotel ZaZa - Houston Museum District to celebrate answered prayer through this life-changing mission.
Thank you to each of you who attended or who made a donation in support of this special event. We are especially grateful to Allie Parsley Curry, RN, Nancy Fontaine, and Bridget Yeung, the extraordinary women who shared their stories of how they have experienced love abiding among their teams, fellow volunteers, and patients and their families.
This event would not have been possible without the efforts of our tireless and generous event chairs, Rebecca Bloch-Lopez and Vilma Tschen. We are also thankful for Jim and Lucy Parker, who sourced and curated our Mercado, and Norm Lewis and Tootsies, Hotel ZaZa, The Grove, and the Westin Galleria, who donated our wonderful raffle prizes.
“Why do we continue to return to Guatemala year after year? We return year after year because of love abiding,” said CEO Rev. Linda McCarty. “An abiding love that calls to our hearts, that surprises us, that challenges us, that changes us. An abiding love that calls us somewhere so deep in our hearts we can’t somehow stay away. For in those moments when we feel our heart soften and shift, we know that we are witnessing something of God’s love…God’s abiding, ever-present love, that shall never, ever let us go.”
Thank you for being a part of this mission. Even if you were unable to attend this event, you can still be an answer to someone’s prayer by making a donation. The proceeds from this luncheon will go toward the medical, dental, and surgical care that Faith In Practice provides in Guatemala.
