Guatemala Updates:

In July 2025, Guatemala was struck by two strong earthquakes, followed by numerous aftershocks that continued for nearly a month. The epicenter was located in the municipality of Santa María de Jesús, very close to Antigua Guatemala, where one of our main offices had operated for 31 years.

This office, known as “the apartment” because it initially housed part of the staff coming from the United States and later became a second home for our team in Guatemala, suffered severe structural damage. As a result, beginning in August the staff relocated temporarily to Casa de Fe and the Warehouse in order to continue operations while searching for a new space that would allow both the administrative and program teams to work together under one roof again.

During October and November, thanks to the support and guidance of our CEO, Ben Adesope, and our Managing Director of Programs in Guatemala, Jaime de León, we had the opportunity to find a suitable, safe location with all the necessary facilities for our staff.

Our new office is located in San Pedro Las Huertas, a spacious and peaceful environment surrounded by nature, just fifteen minutes from downtown Antigua. In January we completed the move and began organizing this new space. We are deeply grateful with God and excited to have an office that enables us to continue our work and to keep serving our Guatemalan brothers and sisters with dedication.

On Thursday, January 15, 2026, the staff in Guatemala had the opportunity to celebrate their traditional annual New Year’s opening breakfast. After some well-deserved holiday rest, we came together once again to share the joy of returning to our second home: the Faith in Practice family.

During this gathering, we not only enjoyed a delicious breakfast but also took time to connect, strengthen our teamwork, and align our expectations and goals for the year ahead. It was a moment of renewal before beginning the intense and extraordinary medical missions that await us.

With gratitude, we asked for God’s guidance, wisdom, and protection so that we may continue serving and be instruments of hope and health for our Guatemalan brothers and sisters.
