Day 3 – Tuesday – April 21, 2026
Everyone has found their rhythm, working together like a well-oiled machine. Surgical teams break off to prepare their rooms while Dr. Dunham and Dr. Whitehead make rounds on their patients. Gina and Jesse begin physical therapy evaluations, Dr. Pizzola dives into consults, and the wheelchair assembly crew picks up right where they left off.
The wheelchair clinic and physical therapy teams were pushed to their limits today with multiple busloads of patients. The day carried its share of challenges. Trying to determine what each patient truly needs while working within limited resources can be disheartening. Some left with nothing more than a prayer, but still carried smiles of genuine gratitude.
Brandi and Dr. Whitehead wrapped up their cases early and immediately stepped in to help build wheelchairs. Surgical techs Art and JJ jumped in to assist a driver loading chairs onto the roof of a bus. The spirit of teamwork was undeniable. No one is finished until everyone is finished. One team, one mission.
