Day 2 – Monday, April 20th, 2026
– Jesus Heals –

Devotion kicked off at 6:00am, starting our day with praise! We arrived to the hospital eager to get the day started. Surgeries began in all four rooms; cholecystectomy, hysterectomy, hernia repair and more. We quickly realized how limited we are with supplies and technology; The teams persevered, got creative with their capabilities and made it work.

By sundown we had completed 16 surgeries and physical therapy evaluated 65 patients in the wheelchair clinic!

The sweetest young boy Kennedy, just 9 years old, was fitted with a new wheelchair. Unfortunately his mother contracted Zika virus while pregnant and he suffers from lasting birth defects. His mobility is limited due to lower-extremity torsion and a deformity of the left hand. Gina, Jesse and Seth improvised with available supplies (pool noodle and zip ties) and Kennedy was showing off his skills as he left the clinic! The appreciation expressed, tears of joy and smiles worn by patients make the long days worthwhile.
