Day One
The Austin Team #856 has arrived in Guatemala! After a full day of travel yesterday, the team gathered this morning in Antigua to travel to Suchitepéquez. We arrived in the village and unloaded the trucks. We have a devoted team member who was not able to join us this year for health reasons. Dr. Austin led the team and local volunteers in a FaceTime hello to her to let her know she is missed! We then spent the rest of the day setting up the clinics. We have general medicine, gyn, ortho, and pediatric clinics, as well as imaging, mobility, pharmacy, and lab. After a full day, we headed to the hotel to check in for the week. We attended an orientation on Insight, a newer tech program to assist with the flow of clinic operations. We are excited to greet our first patients tomorrow!
