Last night, Team Robinson arrived in Guatemala City safely.  With members from California, Texas, Oregon, and more, this team is a diverse, lively, talented group! After a long day of flying, the team headed to the Barcelo for a group dinner and hotel check-in. Our first night together consisted of hours of catching up, stories from previous years, lots of laughs, and introductions, as we travel with a few first time FIP volunteers this trip.

This morning, the team had breakfast at the hotel before boarding a spacious bus headed to the Petén! During the ride, our spirited and knowledgeable Tagni delivered itineraries, updates, and some basic information for new members. After a long 8 hours, the team finally arrived at Hotel Gil-Town in Poptun!

After some downtime at the hotel, the team got together for Triage training led by Tagni and Julia. We then listened to a devotional delivered by Wendy, who read a poem in both English and Spanish that reminded us to be accepting of hardship, lessons, and light during this week. Following the devotional, the team gathered for a delicious dinner in the hotel. After a long night of catching up and discussing logistics for the week ahead, the team heads to bed early in preparation for the first day of clinic tomorrow.

We hope you’ll follow us along in the following days of the clinic through this blog.
