Day One – Triage
Sunday marked the official start of our time in Antigua, Guatemala and our team hit the ground running. We triaged around 75 patients—each one with a unique story and a hopeful heart. These patients will be scheduled for surgeries throughout the week, and we’re filled with purpose and anticipation as we prepare to provide the care they’ve been waiting for. As we walked through the waiting room talking to patients and their families, the air was filled with hope, nerves, and confidence in the Lord.
Our team is made up of General, UroGynecology, and Plastic surgeons, dedicated nurses and operating room staff. We also have non-medical volunteers supporting our logistical and administrative needs—all of us working together to bring healing and support to the communities of Guatemala. It’s a privilege to be here as guests in a beautiful country, and the energy among our team is high as we look ahead to the full week of life-changing surgeries.
Thank you to each donor who made this mission possible. Your generosity is already making a tangible impact in Antigua, and we can’t wait to share more stories of hope and healing in the days to come.
