Day 2
The second day of our journey began with a quiet moment of reflection, setting the tone for everything that followed.
Cece opened the morning by sharing scripture from Matthew 25:40: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (NIV). This reminds us of the deeper purpose behind our work and that in serving others, we are part of something greater than ourselves.
Ceci then invited team members to share why they return to this service year after year and what it means to them. The responses were heartfelt, stories of connection, purpose, and a commitment to making a difference.
After breakfast, we traveled to the village site, ready to begin the day. As soon as we arrived, it was clear that we were needed. Many grateful patients were already waiting. Each clinic quickly became busy with individuals and families seeking care. Throughout the day, the team addressed a wide range of medical concerns with compassion and dedication.
There was a strong sense of mutual respect among team members, with everyone supporting one another to ensure the best possible care for the community.
Over dinner, conversations centered on stories from the day, reminding us why we are here and the difference that can be made when people come together to serve.
