Day 2 of clinic! Our team came together in service to the wonderful people of Guatemala. Here is one of the stories of the day. A sweet, elderly patient came to us with a chief complaint of needing reading glasses which evolved into a much more complicated situation with post-surgical complications after eye surgery that needed more involved translation than Pam was able to provide. Herbert stepped up magnificently to help and with translation of this situation and other complaints that required Carla’s skilled evaluation and treatment planning.
Other family members were seen at the clinic too and all felt profound gratitude especially for help with abuelita. Herbert told her she reminded him of his Mom and Pam also felt flooded with memories of her Mom who passed last year and whose birthday was today so she gifted la abuelita with her FIP crucifix in memory of her Mom which overwhelmed la abuelita with gratitude to the team and to God.
