Day Three
We’re excited to introduce another new and invaluable member of the Austin Village team: Physician Assistant Colin O’Brochta. Colin brings his orthopedic expertise to our mission, and his impact has already been remarkable.
With a strong background in treating orthopedic conditions, Colin is helping patients suffering from arthritis, knee pain, low back and shoulder pain. He has also addressed numerous sports-related injuries, including meniscus and ACL tears. His assessment of the need for surgical care has led to many referrals for total joint replacements, offering patients long-term relief and improved mobility. He has already provided approximately 20 steroid injections daily during this mission. These treatments are making a difference in our patients’ lives, reducing pain and restoring function so they can continue supporting their families.
In Guatemala, where many individuals rely on physical labor to make a living, Colin’s work is not just about healing—it’s about sustaining livelihoods. We are deeply grateful for his commitment and compassion.
Thank you, Colin, for easing the way for so many and making such a meaningful difference!
