Today was the second clinical day for the Robinson team. It seemed like today many of our patients were children. Whether they were being treated or were with their parents, the children in the clinic brought so much joy to the other patients and to our team.

Here are several small stories from the different clinics:

In pediatrics, an 8 month baby with white spots all over his body was found to have a minor allergy and was treated with a prescription.

In general, doctors met with a woman who had diabetes and gave her instructions and medicines to begin to manage her disease.

In mobility, a girl who had a brain injury and was left unable to feed herself or walk was given exercises by the therapy team to strengthen her muscles and regain some independence.

In orthopedics a woman received a steroid injection to provide immediate relief and was referred to get a knee replacement for a long term cure.

In ultrasound, a woman had been previously told that she could not have children due to ovarian cysts. The ultrasound showed that everything was normal and she was relieved.

These stories are all examples of how our team and Faith in Practice are bringing life-changing care to people here in Guatemala.
