Love one another and help others to rise to higher levels, simply by pouring out love. Love is infectious and the greatest healing energy.”
– Sai Baba

Everyone here is like a member of an orchestra and together they perform a symphony. It is difficult to believe it is the last day of surgery and our last day at Hospital Hilario Galindo. We completed 13 surgeries today with a total of 64 patients and 74 procedures for the week!

As the doctors make their rounds and nurses visit with recovering patients, they are always asking for pictures together. The nurses of Hospital Hilario Galindo told us that they take these photos home and place them with their other family photos. We have made such a deep impact on their lives and deep connections in a short amount of time that we have become a part of their family. They have also impacted us as well. We will always remember the people we met and the joy and love that they shared so openly.

We had a wonderful celebration this afternoon with our members of Faith in Practice and the employees of HHG. It was a mutual admiration society. Megan presented the staff of HHG with a certificate of appreciation, and Cyra, a nurse at HHG, shared her gratitude for all the help we provided them with this week. “We can’t pay you, but God saw what you did here this week and he will pay you for your work.”
We want to give a shout-out to our fearless leaders, Megan, Rocky, and Clarissa, who gave selflessly all week long but started planning a year ago to orchestrate all of the magic which took place. They were always running around answering questions, finding equipment, giving people breaks, checking on patients, and making sure everything flowed smoothly and effortlessly.

After all the surgeries were completed, we began to pack up our equipment in preparation for our departure tomorrow. It was amazing watching everyone break down the four operating rooms and pack up all of the supplies back into their trunks. It was like a well-oiled machine.

This week has had quite an impact on us. The patients and their families have left an indelible imprint on our hearts and we will not forget them. We will go home forever changed.
