Mark Woolf, MD
Our beloved Board Member and Spiritual Care Leader, Dr. Mark Woolf, was chosen as the 2025 recipient of the AAHKS Lawrence D. Dorr, MD, Humanitarian Award, one of the most prestigious honors recognizing surgeons who have distinguished themselves by providing humanitarian medical services and programs with a significant focus on musculoskeletal diseases and trauma in the United States or abroad.
This award is given to those whose life and work stand as a beacon of compassion, excellence, and unwavering dedication to serving others. And that is Dr. Woolf through and through!
In operating rooms and village clinics, in quiet prayers, or helping shape our vision at the Board level, he has consistently modeled what it means to serve with both excellence and humility. Dr. Woolf has brought both healing and hope to thousands in Guatemala. His hands have skillfully restored mobility, but it is his heart, rooted in faith, that has touched lives in ways that cannot be measured. His presence among us reminds us that medical mission is more than surgery and medicine, it is an act of love.
Please join us in celebrating this incredible honor and in thanking Dr. Woolf for the way he lives out the mission we hold so dear. Dr. Woolf was recognized at the AAHKS Annual Meeting that took place Oct 23-26 in Dallas, and he joins a distinguished group of Faith In Practice volunteers who have received this award in the past: Gregory Stocks, MD (2023), John Barrington, MD (2021), Brian Parsley, MD (2016), and Adolph V. Lombardi, MD, FACS (2015).
