Day 6
Friday before breakfast, we gathered together one last time in a way that felt both simple and deeply meaningful—writing letters to ourselves. Each of us put pen to paper, capturing thoughts we may not yet fully understand. Gratitude, reflection, and maybe even a few questions we’re still carrying. These letters will find their way back to us sometime in the future, unexpected and unannounced. When they do, they’ll offer a glimpse into who we were in this moment—what this week meant, and how it changed us.
After breakfast, we loaded up the buses and made our way back into Antigua. When we arrived, it was nearly lunchtime—and time to say goodbye to our Faith in Practice teammates.
Goodbyes are never easy, especially when shared purpose has brought people together so quickly and so deeply. This team—each volunteer, each leader, each helping hand—has left a lasting mark on us. We are endlessly grateful for the compassion, dedication, and joy they brought to each day. There’s comfort in knowing this isn’t truly the end—we’ll carry these connections forward, and with hope, we’ll serve alongside one another again.
After settling a few final purchases from Casa de Fe, we had some time to explore the city. Some of us wandered through the cobblestone streets of Antigua, taking in its beauty. Others found a quiet place to sit, share a meal, or simply be still. Whether it was shopping, exploring, or just enjoying conversation, it was a chance to breathe and reflect on all that had happened.
Friday evening, we came together one last time for dinner. It felt fitting—a final gathering around the table, sharing stories, laughter, and the kind of moments that don’t need to be planned to be meaningful. It was the perfect way to close this chapter together.
We turned in early that night, knowing the morning would come quickly, carrying us back home to our different lives.
Hasta la próxima, Guatemala.
