We have finally reached the middle of the week with day 5 of the mission trip. God continues to work in so many ways through all of the staff on the team. The third day of surgery was headed by another delicious breakfast and a great, team-focused devotional to put everyone’s mind in the right place before the busy day ahead. While the surgeries did not see much drastic change, still being mostly cholecystectomies, hysterectomies, and hernia repairs; there was some severe weather that knocked out power for much of the city, causing the hospital to have to rely on generator power to continue. Thankfully, everything continued to go smoothly, as heard when speaking to Wally Huynh, who had much to say about how well the team was working together by this point in the week, creating not only a very pleasant atmosphere to work in, but also an extremely efficient one, able to see many grateful patients who had been waiting a very long time to receive medical attention. Wally recalled one man who came into preop with a hernia that made even daily activities painful, and he was crying tears of joy because of how grateful he was for the service that the team had come to provide. As we move into the back half of this week, we pray that not only does everything continue to go smoothly, but only go better with each passing day.

Sincerely,
Grant Farrow
